Bukit Tinggi

Bentong is both a town and a district in Pahang, Malaysia. The district covers an area of 1,831 km². It is located 80 km northeast of Kuala Lumpur, just across the main range, Titiwangsa Mountains. The original main street going into Bentong town has been modified to a dual carriageway. It is bordered by Selangor on the west and Negeri Sembilan on the south.

Resorts World Genting is operated by Genting Malaysia Berhad (formerly known as Resorts World Bhd), which also operates Awana chain of resorts & hotels. It is accessible by car from Kuala Lumpur in one hour, or also accessible by a cable car called Genting Skyway (3.38 kilometres (2.10 mi)) which at its opening was the world's fastest and South East Asia's longest gondola lift.

Taman Negara

Taman Negara was established at the Titiwangsa Mountains, Malaysia, in 1938/1939 as the King George V National Park. It was renamed to Taman Negara after independence, which literally means "national park" in Malay. Taman Negara has a total area of 4,343 km2 and has a reputation as the worlds oldest tropical rainforest, estimated to be more than 130 million years old. Taman Negara encompasses three states, Pahang, Kelantan and Terengganu, each with its own legislation. The Taman Negara Enactment No. 2 of 1939 is enforced in the state of Pahang, the Taman Negara Enactment No. 14 of 1938 in the state of Kelantan and the Taman Negara Enactment No. 6 of 1939 in the state of Terengganu. The enactments have similar contents. Taman Negara Pahang is the largest at 2,477 km2, followed by Taman Negara Kelantan at 1,043 km2 and Taman Negara Terengganu at 853 km2. The park has been developed into a famous ecotourism destination in Malaysia. There are several geological and biological attractions in the park. Gunung Tahan is the highest point of the Malay Peninsula; climbers can use Kuala Tahan or Merapoh as their departure point. Taman Negara is the home of some rare mammals, such as the Malayan tiger, crab-eating macaque, Sumatran rhinoceros, Malayan gaur and Asian elephant. As well as birds such as the great argus, red junglefowl, and the rare Malayan peacock-pheasant are still found here in some numbers. Tahan River has been preserved to protect the Malaysian mahseer, a type of game fish. Others attractions found near Kuala Tahan include a canopy walkway, Gua Telinga, Lata Berkoh . Visitors can enjoy the tropical rainforest, birdwatching or jungle trekking and the river views along the Tahan River. All visitors to the park must get permits from the Department of Wildlife and National Parks.

Berjaya Hills Resort

Berkelah Falls

Berkelah Falls is a cascade of waterfalls located in Pahang, Malaysia. It is about 31 to 35 km away from Kuantan City in the direction of Maran. The falls consist of seven tiers, according to official data from the Forestry Department Peninsular Malaysia, but there are actually more tiers above the seventh. The seventh and highest fall reaches an estimated height of 50 metres . To get there from Kuala Lumpur, one needs to drive along the Karak Highway, then continue on to the East Coast Expressway. Drive 110 km toward Exit 827, Sri Jaya, then turn into the Federal Route 2. Drive in the direction of Kuantan. At kilometre 46, there is a signboard which says "Hutan Lipur Berkelah". Turn left, drive for approximately 5 km, then you will reach a car park designated for campers. The river and falls were named "Berkelah", because once upon a time ago, there were ikan kelah, or mahseer in the river. The species has suffered a severe population decline, and are now considered threatened, due to habitat loss.

Chini Lake

Tasik Chini is a lake near the Pahang River in central Pahang, Malaysia. The lakeshores are inhabited by the Jakun branch of the Orang Asli. The 12,565 acres Tasik Chini is the second largest fresh water lake in Malaysia and is made up of a series of 12 lakes. Chini River, which drains from the lake, flows into Pahang River. The river is dammed to maintain the lakes depth during the dry season. However, this has disrupted the natural ecology of the lake and caused the death of trees on its shores due to elevated water level. Tasik Chini is one of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve status sites in Malaysia, while the other is Crocker Range in Malaysian Borneo.

Chin Swee Caves Temple

The Chin Swee Caves Temple is a Taoist temple in Genting Highlands, Pahang, Malaysia. The Chin Swee Caves Temple is situated in the most scenic site of Genting Highlands. Within the Temple is seated a statue of Qingshui, a Buddhist monk who has long been referred to as a deity in Fujian province, China for his supernatural abilities to summon rain and drive away evil spirits. The Temple attracts many local and foreign devotees from Singapore, Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand and China. The Chin Swee Caves Temple is situated on a 28-acre plot of rocky forested land donated by Genting Group founder the late Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Lim Goh Tong. Located 4,600 feet above sea level, the Temple is about 5–10 minutes’ drive down from the peak of the mountain.

Jerantut

Jerantut is a major town in central Pahang, Malaysia. It is located 200 kilometres from Kuala Lumpur, and 180 km from Kuantan. Jerantut is also the capital of the district of the same name. Located in the north of Pahang state, Jerantut is the main entrance to the National Park. Being the largest district in Pahang, it bounds the northern states of Kelantan and Terengganu, in the south, Temerloh and Maran district, in the west, Lipis and Raub district and in the east, Kuantan district. Tembeling River, the main river in this district is the exciting way to National Park and the surrounding villages in Ulu Tembeling. The joining of Tembeling and Jelai river forms the Pahang river where it flows right through the Royal Pekan town and then through the South China Sea.

First World Plaza

First World Plaza is a shopping centre located below First World Hotel, the biggest hotel in Genting Highlands, Pahang, Malaysia. It comprises the hotel lobby for First World Hotel. It consists of shops, restaurants, an indoor theme park, a cineplex, a Starworld casino, Bowling center, Genting International Convention Center, Haunted Adventure and a Ripleys Believe It or Not! museum. Entertainment-related performances such as dances, acrobatic shows and magical shows are held in an area called Times Square. The Watersplash pool, and many other restaurants were closed to facilitate the construction of the Twentieth Century Fox World. A Casino was also built on the location of the previous "The Pavilion" which was a concert venue for entertainment-related performances. In January 2013, Singapore-based retailer Tangs opened its fourth outlet in Malaysia, on the second floor of First World Plaza. Along with First World Hotel, First World Plaza is managed by First World Hotels and Resorts Sdn Bhd, one of the companies operating in Genting Highlands Resort.

Mount Tahan

Mount Tahan , at 2,187 m, is the highest point in Peninsular Malaysia. It is located within the Taman Negara national forest, in the state of Pahang. The mountain is part of the Tahan Range in the Tenasserim Hills and is popular with local climbers. . In the Malay language, ‘gunung’ means ‘mountain’, while ‘tahan’ means ‘endure’. Thus, the name of the mountain suggests that a certain level of physical endurance is required to conquer it. Gunung Tahan is considered by many to be one of the toughest treks in Peninsular Malaysia.

Arena of Stars

Arena of Stars is a 45,000 square feet musical amphitheater located at the outdoor theme park of Genting Highlands, Pahang, Malaysia. It was built in 1998. The hall has a capacity of about 6,000 seats. Arena of Stars is the place where almost all musical events at Genting Highlands are held. Singers that have performed at Arena of Stars include Boyz II Men, Michael Learns to Rock, Cliff Richard, Guang Liang, Jolin Tsai, Olivia Newton-John, S.H.E, Joey Yung, Stefanie Sun, Vanness Wu, G.E.M and Twins.

First World Hotel & Plaza

First World Hotel and Plaza is a three-star hotel in Genting Highlands, a hill resort in Malaysia. Featuring a total of 7,351 rooms, it has set the Guinness World Record for Largest Hotel in the World . By 2006, it featured 6,118 rooms, making it the largest hotel, until The Palazzo, an expansion of The Venetian in Las Vegas, officially opened on 1 January 2008. In 2015, First World Hotel regained the Guinness World Record after an opening of a new block. The hotel has received 35.5 million guests since 2006.

Maxims Hotel

The Maxims Hotel, formerly known as Highlands Hotel, is one of the 5 major hotels in Genting Highlands, Malaysia. The hotel is geographically located at the Selangor side of Genting Highlands. It is a 5-star hotel and it houses the Elite Club, the 6-star standard hotel rooms at its top most floor. It houses also the Genting Skyway upper station, the cable car ride station for people to go up to Genting Highlands Resort from the lower station located near Gohtong Jaya. Along with Genting Grand Hotel and Resort Hotel, it houses the Casino de Genting, one of the major casino of Genting Highlands Resort, along with Starworld Casino located at First World Hotel.

Cameron Highlands District

The Cameron Highlands is one of Malaysia’s most extensive hill stations. The size of Singapore, it occupies an area of 712 square kilometres . To the north, its boundary touches that of Kelantan; to the west, it shares part of its border with Perak. Situated at the northwestern tip of Pahang, the “Camerons” is approximately 90 kilometres from Ipoh, roughly 200 kilometres from Kuala Lumpur or about 355 kilometres from Kuantan, the capital of Pahang. It is the smallest constituency in Pahang. Discovered by Sir William Cameron in 1885, the outpost consists of three districts, namely Ringlet , Tanah Rata and Ulu Telom . Its eight sub-districts are Ringlet, Tanah Rata (the administrative centre), Brinchang, the Bertam Valley, Kea Farm, Tringkap, Kuala Terla and Kampung Raja. All are nestled at elevations ranging from 1,100 metres (3,600 ft) to 1,600 metres (5,200 ft) above sea level. The mean annual temperature of the retreat is about 18 °C (64 °F). During the day, the temperature seldom rises over 25 °C (77 °F); at night, it can drop to as low as 9 °C (48 °F) at the higher reaches. The resort has a diverse population of more than 38,000 people. It comprises Bumiputeras (Malay (7,321); others (5,668)), Chinese (13,099), Indians (6,988), non-Malaysian citizens (5,193), and other nationalities (202). Most of the residents here are entrepreneurs, service industry employees, farm workers, retirees or government servants. The languages spoken are Malay, Mandarin, Tamil and English. Islam, Buddhism, Taoism, Hinduism, Christianity and Sikhism are the main religions of the haven. Developed in the 1930s, the tableland is one of the oldest tourist spots in Malaysia. Apart from its tea estates, the plateau is also noted for its cool weather, orchards, nurseries, farmlands, waterfalls, rivers, lakes, wildlife, mossy forest, golf course, hotels, places of worship, bungalows, Land Rovers, museum and its aborigines (Orang Asli). The Cameron Highlands can be accessed by road via Tapah, Simpang Pulai, Gua Musang or Sungai Koyan. Tapah and Simpang Pulai are the two approaches from Perak. Gua Musang and Sungai Koyan are the entryways from Kelantan and Pahang, respectively.

Bera Lake

Bera Lake is a natural freshwater lake system, located in southwest Pahang, Malaysia in the saddle of the main and eastern mountain ranges of Peninsular Malaysia, extending 35 km long and 20 km wide, drainings into the Pahang River. As the largest freshwater swamp in Peninsular Malaysia, Tasik Bera or Bera Lake remains both a unique and remote wetland wilderness. Surrounded by a patchwork of dry lowland dipterocarp forests, the lake environment includes islands of peat swamp forests. Rich in wildlife and vegetation, the ecosystem which supports a diversity of animal and plant life, and sustains the livelihood of the Semelai branch of the Orang Asli people inhabiting the wetlands. It has been protected under the Ramsar Convention since November 1994, which allows traditional use of the area to continue. The core zone consists of 260 km² and the buffer zone of 275 km².

Krau Wildlife Reserve

Krau Wildlife Reserve is the largest wildlife reserve covering 60,349 ha located in the Titiwangsa Mountains, central state of Pahang, Malaysia that was established during the British Colonial Administration. It is managed by the Department of Wildlife and National Parks, located south of Lanchang township. In the 1960s, Lord Medway led a zoological expedition to Gunong Benom which latter had attracted many scholars, biologists and primatelogists to conduct research on the eastern part of the reserve called Kuala Krau. The lowland dipterocarp forest area contains very high diversity of birds and mammals especially primates and bats. At Kuala Gandah, is the Elephant Centre for the management of displaced animals. At Jenderak is the breeding centre for seladang . Among the birdlife, the rare Malayan peacock-pheasant is still found in the reserve in some numbers.

Mentakab

Mentakab is a main town in Pahang, Malaysia, originally known as Pasir Rawa. It is close to Temerloh, Lanchang, Kampung Tualang, Kampung Gantok, Mengkarak and Kerdau. Mentakab was once considered by the State Government in the year 1901 to be the new centre of all administrative works in the state of Pahang. However, due to a problem of uneven land, Kuala Lipis was instead made the capital of the state, later replaced by Kuantan in 1955. Mentakab is located under the district of Temerloh. Temerloh is a large district and contains many towns. Mentakab, being a fairly large town, is often thought by people to be a district in itself, separate from Temerloh.

Tanah Rata is a town located in Cameron Highlands, Pahang, Malaysia. The name "tanah rata" means flat ground in Malay and it refers to the relatively flat area on which the town is located amidst this highland region. It has an elevation of 1,440 metres . It is the largest town in the Cameron Highlands region and contains the many facilities and amenities, including the district council, banks and ATMs and the main hospital in Cameron Highlands. Having a taxi station and a bus station makes it easy to travel to other parts of Cameron Highlands, as well as to Ipoh and to Kuala Lumpur. It also has a good selection of backpacker inns and good-class hotels at various prices.

Najib is also Pekan's current Member of Parliament. The Masjid Abdullah, a landmark in Pekan which dates from the 1920s, and the newer Masjid Abu Bakar is near the Sultan Abu Bakar Museum. The stretch by the river bank from the Abu Bakar Royal Mosque heading towards the Sultan Abu Bakar Museum is Pekan's Heritage Route. As you walk towards the Town from the Sultan Abu Bakar Museum, you can visualize the busy river in the olden days transporting people and goods into this Royal Town.

Abu Bakar Bridge

The Abu Bakar Bridge is the main bridge on Pahang River near Pekan, Pahang, Malaysia. It is located at Jalan Kuantan-Pekan . Construction started in 1968 and was completed two years later, with the total cost of RM2.5 million. The bridge was opened on 28 February 1970 by Almarhum Sultan Abu Bakar of Pahang. Like most of the major bridges constructed in the 1960s and early 1970s, the Abu Bakar Bridge was once a toll bridge for a short period. The toll rate was RM1 for cars and RM2 for buses and lorries.
