Disneyland Paris

Disneyland Paris, originally Euro Disney Resort, is an entertainment resort in Marne-la-Vallée, a new town located 32 km east of the centre of Paris, and is the most visited theme park in all of France and Europe. It is owned and operated by Euro Disney S.C.A., a publicly traded company in which The Walt Disney Company owns a minority stake. The resort covers 4,800 acres and encompasses two theme parks, several resort hotels, a shopping, dining, and entertainment complex, and a golf course, in addition to several additional recreational and entertainment venues. Disneyland Park is the original theme park of the complex, opening with the resort on 12 April 1992. A second theme park, Walt Disney Studios Park opened in 2002. The park is the second busiest Disney park by number of visitors with 15.6 million visitors in 2013 placing it in between Disneyland Anaheim in California, USA, and Walt Disney World in Florida, USA. The resort is the second Disney park to open outside the United States, following Tokyo Disney Resort, and the first to be owned and operated by Disney . The resort was designed specifically to follow the model established by Walt Disney World in Florida.

Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith

Rock n Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith is an enclosed launched steel roller coaster ride at Disneys Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort and at the Walt Disney Studios Park in Disneyland Paris. The Florida attraction opened on July 29, 1999 and is located at the end of Sunset Boulevard, an area of the park which also features The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. The Paris attraction opened on March 16, 2002 in the Backlot section of the park; it is currently the fastest roller coaster in France. The coaster accelerates from 0 to 57 miles per hour in 2.8 seconds . The riders experience 4.5 G as they enter the first inversion, more than an astronaut does on a space shuttle launch. Both versions of the attraction feature five trains, although only four can run at one time. The remaining train is kept in backup while being serviced . As of July 2008, Hanes is the attractions presenting sponsor.

Space Mountain

Space Mountain: Mission 2 is an enclosed roller coaster attraction in Discoveryland at Disneyland Paris themed around a journey into outer space. Originally themed around Jules Vernes classic 1865 novel From the Earth to the Moon, the attraction opened on June 1, 1995, three years after the opening of the park, as an intended revival of interest to draw more guests to the financially unstable European resort. Unlike other Space Mountains found around the world, this version has a steampunk-detailed appearance, with a huge dominating Columbiad Cannon and a plate-and-rivet exterior, in keeping with Discoverylands retro-futuristic theme. It is the only Space Mountain to feature inversions and a section of the ride outside the mountain, that being the station and cannon. The attraction was also the first roller coaster to feature a Synchronized On-Board Audio Track . The audio track was written by Steven Bramson and was in keeping with the Victorian theme. The original version of the ride, Space Mountain: De la Terre à la Lune, closed in January 2005 and the theme was changed to Mission 2, planned as a continuation rather than replacement of Vernes classic, where the rider is taken further into space on a new adventure. The track remains unaltered. The new onboard audio track was composed by Michael Giacchino, and the refurbished attraction debuted on April 9, 2005. It was later refurbished over a six month period from January July 2015, with improvements made to the special effects and overall presentation.

Marne-la-Vallée - Chessy Station

Marne-la-Vallée - Chessy is a combined RER (commuter rail) and TGV (high-speed train) station in Chessy, France, about 30 km (19 mi) east of Paris. The station is located inside Disneyland Paris, in front of the entrances to the two theme parks and Disney Village. The station opened as an extension of the RER A in 1992, in conjunction with the opening of the theme park, with Euro Disney S.C.A. contributing €38.1 million of the €126.5 million cost. The TGV part of the station opened two years after the RER station. There are direct TGV services to, among others, Bordeaux, Marseille, Nice, Lyon, Rennes, Lille, Nantes, Limoges, Toulouse, Montpellier, Orléans, Grenoble and Brussels. On 29 June 1996, Eurostar began direct services from London to Disneyland Paris. Marne-la-Vallée - Chessy is also the rail head used for Paris by Ouigo services. Passengers can travel by TGV from Charles de Gaulle Airport TGV station to this station in less than 10 minutes. The station has a UK National Rail station code of MCK because it is part of the Eurostar network, despite Eurostar not being part of National Rail.
