Ford Idaho Center Amphitheatre

The Ford Idaho Center is a complex of sports and entertainment venues in Nampa, Idaho, approximately 15 miles west of Boise. Venues include an indoor arena opened in 1997 with a seating capacity of 12,279 and 31,200 square feet of floor space and a 10,500-seat outdoor amphitheater opened in 1998 with a 60-by-40-foot stage. Additionally, the Ford Idaho Horse Park is used for horse shows and the Ford Sports Center is utilized for indoor track and field events, including the home meets of the Boise State University Broncos track teams. It features a 200-meter indoor track and hosted the 2012 NCAA Indoor Track Championships. The Ford Idaho Center Arena is best known for rodeo. It annually hosts the Snake River Stampede, considered one of the nation's top rodeos, during the third week in July. The Stampede moved indoors to the Ford Arena in 1997; it was formerly held in an outdoor stadium near Lakeview Park. Since 1999, the Professional Bull Riders has hosted a Built Ford Tough Series (originally Bud Light Cup) event at the Ford Idaho Center in what has been a major stop of the tour. Ford Arena is used for concerts, trade shows, sporting events, and other events. It is the former home of the Idaho Stampede, then of the Continental Basketball Association from 1997-2005 and the Idaho Stallions of the now defunct Indoor Professional Football League in their inaugural season of 1999. Ford Arena is the former home of the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Tournament. Upon its completion, the tournament moved to the Ford Idaho Center in 1998 from its former home on the campus of Northwest Nazarene University. The tournament moved in 2000 when NNU left the NAIA to join the NCAA in Division II. In March 2004, the Ford Idaho Center Arena was the home court for the Boise State men's basketball team for a second round matchup in the NIT against the UWM Panthers. The game was moved to the Ford Idaho Center due to a prior scheduled Metallica concert at Boise State's Taco Bell Arena. The game drew a crowd of 10,153, the largest for a basketball game in the arena's history. BSU and Idaho played a non-conference basketball game at the arena on December 31, 2011; the Broncos won 76-73 before 7,540 spectators. The Ford Amphitheater has played host to music festivals, including the Vans Warped Tour, the Gigantour, Lilith Fair, and the Mayhem Festival. Pearl Jam performed during their Binaural Tour on November 3, 2000, with Supergrass as their opening act. The show was filmed and later released as a live album, titled 1100 – Boise, Idaho. The Rolling Stones played their first concert in the state of Idaho at the arena during their A Bigger Bang Tour on Tuesday, November 14, 2006. The Ford Idaho Center has been the Treasure Valley stop for the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus, Disney on Ice and Champions on Ice since it opened. On January 14, 2014, the City of Nampa announced Ford as the new title sponsor for the Idaho Center. As part of the deal, Ford will pay the City of Nampa $1 million over five years.

Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge

The Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge is an important breeding area for mammals, birds, and other animals. The National Wildlife Refuge is located on land surrounding Lake Lowell, just outside Nampa, Idaho. It serves as a resting and wintering area for birds, including mallards and Canada geese, along the Pacific Flyway and was named a "Globally Important Bird Area" by the American Bird Conservancy. The refuge consists of two sections which contains open water, edge wetlands, grasslands and riparian and forest habitats. The largest portion of the refuge consists of Lake Lowell and its environs, located in Canyon County, just west of Nampa, while the second comprises the Snake River islands located in non-contiguous localities along the river in Canyon, Owyhee, Payette, and Washington counties and Malheur and Baker counties . There is a visitors center at the Lake Lowell site, which is the hub of activity for visitors and those volunteers who donate their time and services to wildlife conservation projects.

Tina Turner was scheduled to perform during her Twenty Four Seven Tour on December 9, 2000, but the show was cancelled. The Rolling Stones played their first concert in the state of Idaho at the arena during their A Bigger Bang Tour on Tuesday, November 14, 2006. The Idaho Center has been the Treasure Valley stop of the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus, Disney on Ice and Champions on Ice since it opened. It is frequently used as the regional stop for American Idols Live! On January 14, 2014, the City of Nampa announced Ford as the new title sponsor for the Idaho Center. The facility will be renamed the Ford Idaho Center. As part of the deal, Ford will pay the City of Nampa $1 million over five years.

Nampa Public Library

The Nampa Public Library is located in historic downtown Nampa, Idaho at 215-12th Avenue South. The library is a member of the Lynx! Consortium of libraries in the Treasure Valley. The library offers materials in a variety of formats including books, magazines, audiobooks, CDs, VHS tapes, DVDs, eAudiobooks and a variety of databases. Fourteen Internet computers are available on a first come-first-served basis. Except during holidays or unusual events, the library is open Monday through Saturday and closed on Sunday. In fiscal year 2006, the library had over 290,000 customer visits, averaging 968 per day, and a collection of over 143,000 items. In 2011, the average customer visits were over 1100 per day. Nampa Public Library employs 17 full-time employees, and 17 part-time employees. 5 staff members hold master’s degrees in librarianship.

College of Western Idaho

College of Western Idaho is a public community college located in Southwest Idaho with its main campus locations in Boise and Nampa. CWI also offers classes at several community locations throughout the Treasure Valley. CWI offers over 60 academic transfer and professional-technical programs leading to an Associate of Arts or Science degree, Associate of Applied Science degrees, and certificates. CWI also offers basic skills education to help upgrade skills, prepare for the GED, and learn English, as well as dual credit for high school students and fast-track career training for working professionals or people seeking to enter the workforce. In the fall of 2013, CWIs enrollment was 19,861 with 9,204 credit students and 10,657 students taking non-credit courses. Ada County residents made up 56% of the CWI student body, while 33% of students come from Canyon County. CWI is one of only three comprehensive community colleges in Idaho, along with College of Southern Idaho and North Idaho College. The college is governed by a five-member board of trustees elected at large by voters in Ada and Canyon counties.

Nampa Gateway Center

Nampa Gateway Center is a 850,000 sq ft lifestyle center located in Nampa, Idaho, United States. The shopping center opened August 3, 2007 with the opening of the center's JCPenney department store, marking the return of the retail chain to Nampa after a 19-year absence. The center was one of the keystones in the overall revitalization of Nampa's downtown in 2005. In January 2008, Sports Authority announced it would close its old Nampa location near Karcher Mall and construct a new 35,000 sq ft store in the shopping center. In August 2008, Macy's announced it too would close its Karcher Mall store in late 2009 to move to the shopping center. Sports Authority opened in September 2009 and Macy's opening in October 2009. A branch of the Idaho Athletic Club opened at the Nampa Gateway Center in 2009. Nampa's second Edwards Cinemas opened in the center in November 2010.
